What is EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a renowned, research backed method used to treat trauma, PTSD, and stressful life experiences. Do you ever notice you have a emotional “charge'‘ with certain memories? Or maybe you feel numb or have blocked out certain ones. Our brains have a natural way of processing and healing memories, but in some cases, it doesn’t know what to do with them, and they get stuck in your nervous system. Through EMDR, I work with you to help the two hemispheres of your brain talk to each other, bring attention to body sensations, and negative beliefs you’ve brought with you from these memories. Together, we will work towards accessing positive ways of looking at these memories, and release stored negative emotions associated with them.
